The Second-Most Important Part of Entrepreneurship

Problem: not enough parking at UF.

The solution to my problem is constructing more parking spaces for people who have purchased parking passes at UF.

I intend to create more parking on the campus by contracting a construction company to innovatively design more spots and places for garages. This will expand parking campus-wide. Not just in certain places. This will ultimately let the university sell more parking spots, but more importantly help student and faculty reduce their stress of finding an alternative way to park on campus.

  2. Remi,
I think your possible solution is very realistic and something that needs to happen eventually, so I think you're on the right track. There could be some hoops to jump through as far executives signing off on the new parking plans, though. How could you possibly turn this idea into a continuous and profitable business? Perhaps target campuses with parking issues throughout the nation and fix their problems one by one?

  3. Remi,
I think your solution to opportunity could possibly work. Obviously the simple solution to this problem is adding more spots. However, I think there are other possible solutions that might work better, because if you just keep adding more and more spots. Sooner or later you are either going to encounter the same problem again or you are going to run out of physical area on campus for there to be more parking spaces. Hopefully you can continue to evaluate the other possible solutions as well. Maybe you might find a more permanent fix rather than a quick band-aid for this problem.

  4. Hey Remi!

I am definitely one who agrees that parking on the UF campus is an issue that needs to be dealt with. That being said, I think the opportunity you presented to fix this is one that thousands of students and employees would easily and quickly benefit from. However, with more parking spaces comes the same problem may start to continue. Never the less, nice post! Keep working on other possible solutions!
