1) Tenaciousness is a competency. What are the behaviors that you have used (or developed) to keep up with the requirements of this course?
To keep up with this course I have learned that I need to stay very organized. I use my planner heavily and rely on my time management skills to keep me going. With the cupcakes open only on the weekends, finding times to do those is always my biggest struggle. But, I always manage to get it done.
2) Tenaciousness is also about attitude. Talk about a moment or two when you felt like "giving up." What pulled you through? Do you feel like you've developed a tenacious attitude during the past two months? What experience or experiences most contributed to this?
When you have so much going on in your life with school, involvement and commitments, it is easy to think about giving up. I think it is important to always remember that things will get better and not to give up. See the light at the end of the tunnel and know that things will slow down soon. I feel like in college in general, a tenacious is a necessity to succeed.
3) Three tips. What are three tips you would offer next semester's student about (1) fostering the skills that support tenacity and (2) developing the 'tenacious mindset'?
Some tips I would give to future students would be to be organized, be confident and be open to ideas and opportunities. All of these help you he open as a person, as well as a student and communicator.

Remi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your reflection. I think you did a good job putting tenacity and time-management in perspective. I agree with you that the number of videos and the timing makes the cupcakes a tough cookie [see what I did there!] but still doable with a little bit of discipline and organization. I also share your thoughts on staying positive as a strategy to not give up. My only recommendation to your post would be to elaborate further in your three tips. Perhaps, write one or two sentences per tip to explain what you really mean with organized, confident and being open. In any case, great post and thank you for sharing your reflection!
Hey Remi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your blog for a multitude of reasons. I think you did a great job putting in the effort with the tips that you would suggest to the future students of this course. Being organized in this class is a huge stepping stone to being successful and I believe that anybody can achieve that. I completely agree with you that sometimes the cupcakes are not necessarily cupcakes, but overall I think you fully understand this course and the merit behind it. Overall, great post and supporting details.
Dear Remi,
ReplyDeleteI agree with your view on tenacity and how to succeed in this class. It is very critical to stay organized and on top of the weekly assignments, while still putting in enough effort to truly learn from the activities. I thought YLC was a great example of an event where you are supposed to be tenacious and truly work as a communicator.
Remi,
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your post and your perspective on tenacity. I completely agree with your views and how applicable they are to a class such as this. I think you have to have some level of tenacity to be successful in life. If there was one aspect of your post that I would have developed more was your "Three Tips" section. I think it would have been beneficial to the student if you applied your tips to a section in the class that made it useful. Other than that, it was well done.
Remi,
ReplyDeleteI think it is important for future students to open minded when opportunities come their way. You never know what may come from the smallest opportunity. I also agree that organization is the key to this course. With assignments due every Friday and Monday, it is imperative to have a routine of getting these assignments done but the due date.
